About Us

Since 2010, we have run radically inclusive LGBTQIA+ events in Austin, Texas.

Our History

In 2010, local queer activists and artists organized the first Queerbomb to push back against corporate-centric pride’s exclusionary rhetoric, lack of diversity, accessibility, and insistence on “family friendliness”. Every year since, on the first Saturday of June, we have held a radically inclusive and transgressive event -- free for all. Over the years, Queerbomb has been held at a number of locations of which, most are now closed or torn down for high rise buildings (Pine Street Station). That said, we have called Fair Market home since 2015 until 2020 when the COVID-19 pandemic caused our event to shift to digital endeavors.

Our Community

Queerbomb is completely volunteer led and community funded. We are a grass roots organization with no board and no hierarchy. Queerbomb is composed of those who show up to make it happen. All members of the Austin queer and trans community are welcome to come to our organizing meetings or contribute to our effort to create a radically inclusive pride celebration.

The Queerbomb community is not just those of us who have helped make it happen but all who have come to revel in their queerness unstifled.
